A lovely, thoughtful review. It’s worth a read as it really hits on the reality of the mixed messages and downright useless information we receive beyond the birth of our babies. Often leading us to feel like a bad parent.
If you want to know the real deal, the truth, when it comes to sleep – how to get it and how to ensure it’s a long term solution and a gift that keeps giving, we are the answer. It doesn’t get more honest than that.
“After an emergency C-section, a low birth weight, some initial difficulty breast feeding and three hourly top up feeds for the first four weeks, we had a bit of a bumpy start. After 8 weeks we were seeking advice from local sleep services, none of which were remotely helpful. If “put them down drowsy but awake”, “try patting them to sleep”, “just give it time, longer stretches of sleep will come”, “I’ll call you again in four weeks”, “read their tired signs”, etc, sounds familiar, you’ll know where we’re coming from.
We reached a point where we knew that we needed help because we were doing shifts just to get through the day and night. It was unsustainable.
We were on an assessment waitlist for the local sleep school but we couldn’t wait that long. We needed immediate help around the five month mark because nothing was working. Luckily a friend reached out at this time and highly recommended Amy, my friend and her friends and family with babies all had success with Amy. That gave us comfort and the confidence to ask for Amy’s help.
We had a consultation with Amy and everything she said made sense to us and we were comfortable with her approach. It worked. On the first night we had more sleep than we’d had since our baby arrived. There were challenges along the way but Amy offered fantastic support. Firm but friendly is how we would describe her. Amy left us with a guide to follow as our baby grew, we’ve followed this and have found the transition to two naps, one nap, etc, quite seamless. We can’t imagine how we would have figured that out without Amy’s guide. Thank you Amy! I’m sure we’ll work with you again if we’re lucky enough to have baby number two.”
